2025 RRFB Installation

In the fall of 2024, the City of Monroe received a Grant for $70,090 from the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) for the installation of four (4) Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFB). These Beacons improve pedestrian safety at crosswalks by alerting passing traffic that pedestrians are actively crossing the intersection. These locations will include new ADA crossing (if necessary), updated signs and signals, improved crosswalk markings, and other necessary equipment to install the RRFBs. The Four locations are as follows:

  • Chain Lake Road Crossing
  • Intersection of Blueberry Lane and King St (West Side)
  • Intersection of Main St. and Sams St. (East Side).
  • Intersection of Fremont St and Lewis St (South Side).
