Support Services
Monroe Police Department Support Services personnel support important quality of life services.
- Our Community Services Officer(s) (CSO) responds to complaints regarding public nuisances such as parking and noise and animal control. They represent the Department at community events and coordinate public safety education programs.
- Our School Resource Officer Program (SRO) is a partnership program with the Monroe School District where an Officer at Monroe High School supports safety and security during the school day and during selected after school activities.
Our Community Outreach Team is a unique program where a Monroe Police Officer and Snohomish County social worker, with leadership from the Police Chief, conduct regular outreach to people experiencing homelessness and provide resources, medical assistance, substance abuse treatment, housing, and rides to appointments.
- Our Training Program ensures our personnel undergo the most comprehensive and up-to-date training possible. Our police officer recruits are required to successfully pass basic training at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC). Additionally, our police officers complete in-service and advanced training courses to achieve full compliance with WSCJTC training requirements. Non-commissioned support positions also completed training that broadened knowledge relative to their responsibilities, including public records production, managing police records, reporting crime statistics, managing evidence, entry of protection orders, and processing applications for concealed pistol licenses.
