Mobile Vendors

A mobile vendor sells goods, services, or food from a temporary structure, vehicle, cart or other means of transport.

 

To make sure you operate safely and within our codes, please note key requirements:

-A city-approved permit and site plan are required for each location you have within Monroe city limits prior to operating.
-You can operate in one location for 12 hours within a 24 hour period.
-You can operate for 60 days in a single location.
-If you’re wanting to operate in the public right-of-way, you’ll need get a separate city permit.
-You cannot block passage on the sidewalk, alley, street, or other public place
-If you’re on private property, you cannot take up more than 25% of required parking.
-All materials, structures, and products can be left onsite overnight between consecutive days.
-Permit fee is $200
-No city permit required if you are part of a Farmer’s Market or permitted special event.
-You’ll need a City of Monroe endorsement on your Washington state business license.
-Other permits may be required from other agencies.
