Community Court

Monroe Municipal Community Court (MMCC) is a collaborative, problem-solving, and community-focused approach to respond to low-level quality of life crimes. Through a cooperative effort between Monroe Municipal Court, the City Prosecutor, Monroe Public Defenders, the Monroe Police Department, and community service providers, MMCC seeks to provide social services to individuals, reduce crime, hold participants accountable, save taxpayer money, and increase public confidence in the local criminal justice system

At arraignment, individuals are encouraged to meet with the MMCC program coordinator to determine eligibility to participate.  Eligible offenses include theft, criminal trespass, knowingly possess a controlled substance, and driving on a suspended license.  MMCC participants are required to complete a risk/needs assessment, engage with social services, and give back to the community through community service.  The program is free.
