--Requires simple majority vote of City of Monroe voters
--Proposes Monroe’s property tax levy rate to be $1.08/$1,000 AV, an increase of $0.22 from current rate
--Costs average Monroe homeowner approximately $10.84 more a month paid in property taxes
--Provides a little more than $1 million/year to sustain parks maintenance staffing and equipment and address current demands and provide funding for a second Community Services Officer and public safety position in the Police Department
NOTE about the term levy lid lift: State law limits property tax levy increases to 1% per year unless voters approve a levy “lift.”
