The Monroe community is invited to share feedback and identify priorities for Monroe’s future land use at a community priorities workshop for the “Monroe 2044 Comprehensive Plan Update.” The workshop will be held on Wednesday, June 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Monroe School District Administration Office and Community Rooms, 14692 179th Ave SE, Monroe, WA 98272. The 2044 Monroe Comprehensive Plan will implement the community’s “Imagine Monroe” vision developed prior to the start of the Monroe 2044 Comprehensive Plan project.

“We are deep into our Comprehensive Plan update process, and it is now time to start making some decisions about how we move forward over the next 20 years,” said Kate Tourtellot, the City of Monroe’s Planning Manager and Project Manager for the Monroe 2044 Comprehensive Plan project. “This workshop gives community members the opportunity to focus forward.”

The evening promises to be both informative and engaging, with a presentation, an interactive game with small group discussions, and information about the environmental review process required for these types of projects. Meeting participants will work towards refining policy language and identifying a preferred land use alternative.

Also on June 5, the project will also launch an interactive survey that asks participants to prioritize major policy updates considered for the Comprehensive Plan, as well as the opportunities to provide input on project maps. The survey will be available on the project website at www.monroe2044.com

Information about the project, links to the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement are available on the project webpage (www.monroe.2044.com). Please contact Kate Tourtellot for additional accommodation and accessibility
