***07/19/2018 Republic Services update:
This morning, the Mayor was in contact with Republic Services after which Republic has committed to pulling resources from other areas to come to Monroe to pick up all services by the end of business today. If you were missed, be sure to have your materials curbside for pick up. --end of update--
Please be advised that Republic Services has been delayed with their usual garbage and recycling pick up schedules. The City became aware last week that parts of the City had not received timely garbage and recycling pick up. We reached out to Republic Services to have this issue resolved.
Republic has been experiencing a driver shortage, which has affected their ability to complete their routes in a timely manner. They have hired nine new drivers that will be available to start their routes within the next three to four weeks. In the interim, they will try to reach out to their Seattle, Kent, and Bellevue offices for help. This has also affected their call volumes and wait times. They will have additional customer service representatives in their call center within the next few weeks. In addition to these new positions, Republic is continuing to recruit for more drivers and call center personnel.
For 07/18/2018, the following information was provided by Republic:
Due to a driver shortage, some Tuesday garbage customers were not picked up yesterday. These customers should receive robo calls informing them of their pick up delay. There may also be delays for our Wednesday customers, who should also receive a call. At this time, yard waste and recycling customers should all be picked up.

You can also make a payment online with a check or credit card, or sign up for recurring payments. For your first time registering, you will need your utility account number and the name on the account as it appears on your bill. This is to protect your privacy. Questions? - Drop-off payment box is located on wall at City Hall front entrance area
- Pay in person at Monroe City Hall during normal business hours
- Pay over the phone with VISA or MasterCard, with applicable fee
The shut off days for 2018 are 1/23/18, 2/22/18, 3/20/18, 4/19/18, 5/22/18, 6/21/18, 7/19/18, 8/21/18, 9/20/18, 10/18/18, 11/20/18 & 12/20/18 (dates are subject to change at any time).
