The Permit Division of the Community Development Department serves as a "one-stop shop" by providing services to citizens for the intake of permit applications for the Planning, Building, Engineering and Fire Departments.  Permit staff is also responsible for maintaining accurate information in order to assist citizens in understanding and applying the permitting regulations provided by the Monroe Municipal Code.  The goal of the Permit Division is to provide the public with prompt and courteous service.

The City of Monroe is committed to excellent and efficient customer service. To this end, the city strongly encourages a Pre-application Review meeting before submittal of a land development, subdivision, or commercial building application. This will provide you an opportunity, early in the planning stages, to meet with Development Review representatives who will assist you with preliminary direction regarding your proposed project.  To set up a meeting to discuss your project, please contact Kim Shaw, Land Use Permit Supervisor at or at (360) 863-4532.
